The Ministry of National Defence and Border Security (MNDBS) extends its sincere congratulations to Rear Admiral Elton Bennett, Commandant of the Belize Coast Guard, on his appointment as the new Chief Executive Officer in the Ministry of Home Affairs and Enterprise.
Rear Admiral Bennett’s appointment reflects his distinguished service, leadership, and long-standing commitment to national security and public service. Throughout his tenure with the Belize Coast Guard, Rear Admiral Bennett has demonstrated strategic vision, professionalism, and an unwavering dedication to safeguarding Belize’s maritime domain and national interests.
The MNDBS further advises that Captain Gregory Soberanis, currently serving as Vice Commandant of the Belize Coast Guard, will assume the role of Acting Commandant. Captain Soberanis will carry out these duties until an appointment is formally confirmed by the Prime Minister, Hon. John Briceño.
The Ministry expresses full confidence in Captain Soberanis’ leadership and capability to ensure the continued operational effectiveness, stability, and professionalism of the Belize Coast Guard during this transition period.
The MNDBS remains committed to supporting seamless leadership transitions within its agencies and to strengthening the institutions that play a critical role in Belize’s national security framework.
