Belmopan, November 13, 2025.
The Office of the Prime Minister, through the Investment Policy and Compliance Unit (IPCU) in the Ministry of Investment, in collaboration with the Corozal Think Tank, completed training in 3D design and printing and hosted the demonstration and handover of Phase 1 of the Smart Classroom Project to the Belize Adventist College on November 12, 2025.
This initiative was made possible with funding from the Government of Belize through the Regional Economic Development Master Plan for the Corozal District. The Smart classroom is equipped with fifteen all-in-one computers, a 3D printer, a CNC carving laser module, and 40 spools of filament, enough for one year. The Smart classroom promotes computer literacy and the use of complex software for 3D printing and creativity. This income-generating project exposes students to technological integration and upgrades the hardware at the Belize Adventist College.
The Corozal Think Tank is the steering committee of the Regional Economic Development Master Plan for the Corozal District. It is comprised of a group of Government representatives and professionals from the Corozal District, tasked to monitor and implement projects under the master plan. These projects are all community-based and economically diverse.
Present at the inauguration ceremony were Hon. Florencio Marin, Minister of Rural Transformation, Community Development, Labour and Local Government; Hon. Thea Garcia-Ramirez, Minister of Human Development, Family Support & Gender Affairs; Mr. Lincoln Blake, Director, Investment Policy and Compliance Unit; and Mrs. Pamela Heron, Principal, Belize Adventist College.
The Office of the Prime Minister; the Ministry of Human Development, Family Support, and Gender Affairs; and the Ministry of Rural Transformation, Community Development, Labour and Local Government, remain committed to a culture of excellence in education, arts, and innovation across Belize, ensuring gender-equal opportunities.
