Prime Minister Briceño and IDB President Hold Discussions

Today, Prime Minister Hon. John Briceño held a cordial work meeting via Teams with Mauricio Claver-Carlone, President of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB). The meeting was requested by President Claver-Carlone in order to discuss ongoing projects in Belize.

During the meeting, Prime Minister Briceño expressed the appreciation of the government and people of Belize for the continued support of the IDB. In turn, President Claver-Carlone congratulated Prime Minister Briceño for the dedication and determination of his administration to rebuild the nation’s economy, and on the success, the effort has already yielded.

President Claver-Carlone has also committed to strengthening the ties the government has forged with the international lending agency, built on mutual respect and a commitment to growth, development and integrity. An integral part of the discussion was focused on new projects and partnerships between Belize and the IDB in 2022.
