Minister Panton tours agro-processing companies in Stann Creek

The Stann Creek District is home to many of Belize’s export industries such as citrus, banana and aquaculture which contribute significantly to Belize’s national economy. The Honorable Tracy Panton, along with a delegation from the Ministry of Investment, Trade and Commerce, and members from the Belize Bureau of Standards, and the Investment Policy and Compliance Unit, conducted site tours of several agro-processing companies in the Stann Creek District during the month of February.

While at the sites, the delegation was taken on tours of the facilities and discussed with exporters/investors any challenges that they face in doing business in Belize. Additionally, the delegation and the producers discussed potential opportunities by which companies can access new markets for their products.

Some of the companies visited were Marie Sharp’s Fine Food Limited, Belize Food Products Limited, Citrus Company of Belize Limited, Belize Citrus Feed Limited, Valley Manufacturing Company Limited, Citrus Growers Association, Aquablue Shrimp Hatchery, TexBel Limited and Fruit Processors Limited.
