Ministry of Health and Wellness to Receive Second Donation of COVID-19 Vaccines

Belmopan. March 7, 2021. 8:15 p.m.

A shipment of 25,000 COVID-19 vaccines is scheduled to arrive tomorrow, March 8, 2021, at the Philip S.W. Goldson International Airport.

The vaccines are a donation made possible by the people and Government of India.

Hon. Michel Chebat, the Minister of Health and Wellness, along with representatives of the Ministry, and members of the Indian community of Belize will be on hand to receive the donation.

The COVID-19 Vaccination Exercise will continue this week with the remaining frontline health workers. The public is encouraged to get vaccinated when the opportunity arises. Please take note of the vaccination locations and phases of the rollout.

The Ministry reminds the public that even after receiving the COVID-19 vaccine, persons are to continue to follow the COVID-19 guidelines: wear masks properly in public, maintain social distancing and wash and sanitize hands often.
