Hon. Thea Garcia-Ramirez, Minister of Human Development, Family Support & Gender Affairs, concluded a comprehensive tour this week, visiting key social service departments and engaging directly with both staff and beneficiaries.
The tour included stops at The HUB (Community Rehabilitation Department), the Women and Family Support Department, and the Department of Human Services. It also included two of the five residential care facilities managed by the departments: the New Beginnings Youth Development Centre and the Good Samaritan Homeless Shelter.
Today, at the Department of Human Services, the Minister had a highly interactive and enlightening session with the staff. The team discussed the department’s challenges and shared their insights on improving services. The Minister assured them of her commitment to incorporating their input into future planning.
“The conversations I’ve had this week have been incredibly meaningful. I’ve heard the passion, the frustration, and the hope from those who do the hard work every day. Our job now is to take that feedback and turn it into action,” said Minister Garcia-Ramirez.
This tour represents the Ministry’s ongoing commitment to transparency, accountability, and people-centered policy development.
