MAFSE Hosts Training Workshop on Agri Academy Platform

Belmopan. June 30, 2025.

The Ministry of Agriculture, Food Security, and Enterprise (MAFSE), in partnership with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), is currently hosting a two-day training workshop on the use of the Agri Academy Platform. This workshop, conducted by KYN Consultancy, aims to strengthen the digital capacity of technical training officers by equipping them with the necessary skills to effectively use and promote this innovative platform.

The Agri Academy Platform is a newly developed digital tool designed to modernize the delivery of agricultural extension services across Belize. Created by MAFSE with support from the FAO through the Technical Cooperation Program, TCP/BZE/302, the platform supports the advancement of digital agriculture services to build more sustainable and inclusive agri-food systems.

The Agri Academy Platform is expected to bridge gaps in agricultural education and support, particularly in remote and underserved communities. The platform provides an interactive space for learning and knowledge exchange, giving users access to up-to-date resources, practical training modules, and expert guidance. It is envisioned that this digital approach will allow farmers to improve their productivity and resilience by enabling timely access to critical information including best practices, pest and disease management, and business innovation.

The operationalization of the Agri Academy Platform marks an important milestone in the country’s journey toward a digitally empowered agricultural sector. The training workshop reflects the Ministry’s commitment to ensuring that extension officers and technical staff are well-prepared to support this digital transformation and to guide farmers in maximizing these emerging opportunities.
