Government of Belize Cautions the Public Against Dealing with Trust Lands in San Jose Palmar in the Orange Walk District

Belmopan. July 11, 2019.  In 1936, a trust was created in favor of the San Jose Palmar Indians and pursuant to the terms of the trust, the Government of Belize is entrusted with the power to dispose of the trust lands in accordance with the advice of the committee appointed by the villagers of San Jose Palmar.

There is currently no legally constituted committee; however, the Government of Belize is in the process of appointing such committee.  As such, until that is done, the public is advised against dealing with any trust lands outside of the terms of the trust deed.  The Government of Belize assumes no responsibility for any liability incurred as a consequence of reliance or otherwise, by any person, estate or otherwise, on any representation or otherwise, that is contrary to the terms of the trust deed.

The Government of Belize is the sole entity entrusted with power to dispose of the trust lands in accordance with the terms of the trust.
