Department of Transport Hosts Training for Terminal Management Unit

The Department of Transport conducted a two-day training workshop from February 1 to 2, 2021, for supervisors and assistant supervisors of the terminals countrywide.

The main objectives of the training were to inform and discuss:

  • The operations, rules and regulations of the Terminal Unit
  • Key duties and responsibilities of the terminal staff
  • The safety protocols inclusive of COVID-19 regulations
  • Customer service protocols
  • Future plans to enhance terminal facilities and experience

The workshop, which was held at the NEMO Conference Room in Belmopan, was opened by Mr. Marconi Leal Jr., Chief Executive Officer in the Ministry of Public Utilities, Energy and Logistics, who presented the Transport Strategic Plan and priorities for the Terminal Unit. Facilitators included Mr. Tirso Galvez, Chief Transport Officer; Ms. Marianne Ramclam, Manager of the Terminal Unit; and Ms. Samantha Hibberd, Administrative Assistant for the Ministry.

The Ministry thanked all for their participation in the training and encouraged them to effectively apply the valuable information and knowledge gained in their line of duty to improve the experience of all Belizeans at the various bus terminals.
