The Cabinet met on 17th February 2026.
- Cabinet gave its endorsement to the updated National Water Resources Management Policy, Strategy, and Action Plan for 2024-2034, which provides a comprehensive roadmap for managing the nation’s freshwater resources in a coordinated, evidence-based, and financially sustainable manner. Cabinet has directed all ministries and statutory bodies with water-related functions to align their policies and plans with the Policy and to collaborate through the Belize Water Advisory Council.
- Cabinet gave its endorsement of a loan for a project to build a wastewater collection and treatment system in Caye Caulker to improve services provided by Belize Water Services Limited (BWSL). Cabinet also agreed to seek the approval of the House of Representatives to enter into a sovereign-guarantee agreement for the sum of US$10m from IDB to be lent to BWSL.
- Cabinet was advised by the Minister of Health & Wellness of 2 confirmed cases of tuberculosis (TB). The patients have been given appropriate anti-tuberculosis treatment and are responding well. The Ministry continues to monitor the situation closely and remains committed to protecting the health and well-being of all students and the wider community.
- Finally, Cabinet encourages all Belizeans to stay healthy through regular exercise and outdoor activities.
