The Cabinet met on 3rd February 2025.

  • After reviewing the rapid assessment of challenges in San Pedro, Ambergris Caye, and Caye Caulker related to guest experiences in these destinations, Cabinet supported the development of a detailed plan to address key concerns and committed to allocating resources for priority improvements to safeguard the sustainability of tourism on both islands.
  • Cabinet was apprised of the work undertaken by Belize’s International Cooperation Council and the outcomes of its International Cooperation Council Partners’ Conference, where Belize aims to advance its green transition by converting plans into investment-ready outcomes supported by strong coordination, institutional capacity, and sustained leadership.
  • Cabinet took note of the steps being taken by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade in the advancement of a National Human Rights Institution, which will shortly announce the start of a project titled “Advancing Human Rights in Belize: Establishing a National Human Rights Institution.”
  • Cabinet will introduce several new bills at Friday’s Sitting of the House of Representatives to empower traffic wardens to better enforce traffic rules and to improve public safety on roads and highways.
  • Finally, Cabinet encourages all Belizeans to get vaccinated against the flu to help protect themselves and others.
