Belize Receives Financial Support for National Consultations on the Convention on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination

Belize City, February 25, 2019. The Government of Belize, through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, has prioritized the preparation of its National Report on the International Convention on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination (CERD).  In this regard, the Ministry will embark on a national public consultation with relevant stakeholders.

Today, the Ministry received financial support from the Embassy of the Republic of China (Taiwan) to assist with the execution of the national public consultations. This includes support for the development of collateral materials and public presentations to stakeholders as well as other logistical costs. Receiving the donation was Hon. Wilfred Elrington, Minister of Foreign Affairs from H.E. Remus Li-Kuo Chen, Ambassador of the Republic of China (Taiwan) to Belize.
