Attorney General’s Ministry Hosts Birth Registration Mobile Clinic

Belmopan, November 30, 2023.

From November 24 to 26, the Vital Statistics Unit, in collaboration with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and Humana People to People, conducted a Birth Registration Mobile Clinic in Independence Village, Stann Creek District.

This initiative allowed people from remote communities in the Stann Creek District to gain access to vital services such as registration of regular and late births and deaths, application of certificates, corrections of errors and deed polls. These services give Belizeans the opportunity to gain access to an identity, which is empowering and represents the possibility of a better quality of life since it is the gateway to all other essential services.

Over 600 residents took advantage of the services offered at the mobile clinic as the Government of Belize continues to take its resources to the Belizean people.
