The Office of the Prime Minister informs that the Hon. John Briceño departed the country, today, Sunday, February 22, 2026, enroute to St. Kitts and Nevis to attend the “Fiftieth CARICOM Heads of Government Meeting.” Accompanying the Prime Minister is Hon. Francis Fonseca, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade, Education, Culture, Science and Technology; H.E. Amalia Mai, Chief Executive Officer; and H.E. Lawrence Sylvester, Ambassador to CARICOM.
The Prime Minister returns to Belize on Sunday, March 1, 2026.
During the Prime Minister’s absence, Hon. Cordel Hyde, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Natural Resources, Petroleum and Mining, will hold over as Prime Minister.
