The Cabinet met on 28th October 2025.
- In keeping with its commitment to timely maintenance of vital public infrastructure, Cabinet gave its support for the execution of two large- scale maintenance contracts for bridges in the Belize River Valley, namely the Mussel Creek Bridge and the Bermudian Landing Bridge.
- On the advice of the Attorney General, Cabinet instructed that the Police file involving the disappearance of Ryan Joseph Budna be handed over to the Director of Public Prosecutions for action.
- Cabinet gave its support for the development of a National Intellectual Property Strategy for This initiative will be led by BELIPO within the Attorney General’s Ministry, with technical assistance from the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). A National IP Strategy Committee, with representation from Government, private sector, academia, and civil society, will be established to provide formal policy oversight to ensure that the strategy meets domestic needs and international standards.
- To ensure the continued and uninterrupted operation of the country’s Solid Waste Management Facilities, Cabinet approved funding for essential maintenance for existing facilities and to operationalize the Orange Walk and Corozal transfer stations.
- Cabinet considered the pricing of regulated plantation white sugar and brown sugar for industrial products, including consideration of the freight distance in the establishment of prices, and approved the establishment of regulated prices and the removal of price control for retail labelled packaged sugar.
- Finally, Cabinet encourages all Belizeans to drive safely and to always wear seatbelts.
