At the invitation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, H.E. Albert Ramdin, Secretary General of the Organization of American States (OAS), has arrived in Belize today to participate in the Ministry’s annual Diplomatic Week.
During his visit to Belize, Secretary General Ramdin will deliver the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade’s Lecture Series on the topic “Mobilising Financing for Security: How the OAS Can Support Investment in Hemispheric Security” on the evening of September 19, 2025. The lecture will be livestreamed on the Ministry’s social media platforms.
The Secretary General will also address a public and private sector dialogue on the morning of September 19, which seeks to bring together Belizean private and public sectors in dialogue with external partners to identify opportunities of trade and investment. Thereafter, the Secretary will hold a press conference to brief the media on his visit.
While in Belize, Secretary General Ramdin will hold bilateral meetings with the Prime Minister, Hon. John Briceño, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade, Culture and Immigration, Hon. Francis Fonseca. Secretary General Ramdin will also visit the OAS Office in the Adjacency Zone.
The Secretary General will be in Belize from September 17–20, 2025.
